Nestled
on a beautiful country road is a lovely old farmhouse with a simple little
sign ... "Equine Antiques."
Inside, everything speaks of horses. You'll
find thousands of items, all with an equestrian motif or use,
from exquisite Royal Doulton china to primitive bog shoes.
The entire
essence of the shop creates a deep appreciation for horses. Victorian
tackroom hardware, lawn jockeys, hitching posts, inkwells, full
and model size horse drawn vehicles, statues, jewelry, clocks,
paintings, china prints, crops, vintage riding outfits, holly
driving whips, flasks, boot forms, ... if it celebrates the horse,
it may very well be found at Equine Antiques and Collectibles.
Alongside
the antiques and collectibles is a select offering of new decorating
accessories. Mirrors and boxes with hand-painted horse and/or
hunt scenes, prints, jewelry, humidors and other tasteful items
as they are discovered.
If
you'd like to take your 'horsey' club or group on a tour of the
shop, just give Freddi a call in advance and set up a time. It's
a fascinating place to visit ... whether you're a Pony Clubber,
4-H member or an adult equestrian group.
And
if you make a day of it, there are a couple of other interesting
horse places within just a few minutes of Equine Antiques &
Collectibles -- The Rochester Equine Clinic ... a well-known
equine veterinary practice and hospital; and Meader Supply, a
huge store specializing in draft horse and farrier supplies. It's
a veritable horsey triangle of fascinating things for equine enthusiasts.
